shae inglisShae Inglis was born on February 25th, 1973. He spent most of his childhood in the rugged Rocky Mountains of the East Kootenays, British Columbia. Talent as an artist was apparent by family members as soon as he was able to hold a pencil. His parents had a hard time keeping up to his overwhelming consumption of paper and other art supplies. Depictions of the family pets and wildlife were hung in the household, gifts given on every special occasion. Shae was also recognized in his school with virtually every art award and competition he competed for.

Shae left the Kootenays in 1991 to study fine arts at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, where he continued to develop his skills in drawing, painting, sculpting and printing. He moved into a league of his own when he decided to use his computer as his medium of choice for many of his art classes. His teachers had a hard time grading the work, as there was nothing like it at the time. Shae continued this line of passion in the University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops, British Columbia, studying typography, desktop publishing and 3-dimensional design. Before his last school term ended, he was hired full time as a lead graphic designer in a very successful internet-based company in the Okanagan.

In 1998, he took his career a step further and formed a partnership in a Web development firm, designing and building Web sites for companies around the globe. With more free time, because of the company's success, and encouragement by friends and family, Shae returned to his roots and picked up a paint brush again in 2001. Shae has rediscovered his true passions, painting, drawing and sculpting.

To quote Shae: "There is nothing more true than this traditional medium (painting) as an art form. It's unforgiving nature captures one's true vision. The end result is never perfect and that is what I have missed most in this new digital world of 'Undo' and 'Copy Paste'. My greatest reward comes from others' recognition and enjoyment of my interpretation of nature's imperfection."
